Privacy Policy

A plain-language account of what this site collects, why, and what you can do about it.

This is a personal portfolio website. It collects very little, sells nothing, and exists to share my work. This policy explains the small amount of data that is involved when you visit.

01

Who runs this site

This website, jessicamcamacho.com, is owned and operated by Jessica Camacho ("I," "me"). It is a personal professional portfolio. If you have any question about this policy or your data, you can reach me at [email protected].

02

What this site collects

I try to keep data collection to a minimum. Depending on how you use the site, the following may be involved:

  • Information you send me. If you email me using a link on this site, I receive whatever you choose to put in that message — your name, email address, and its contents. I use it only to reply and to follow up on our correspondence.
  • Basic analytics. Like most websites, this site may use analytics to understand aggregate, anonymized traffic — pages viewed, general location by country or region, device type, and referring source. This is statistical and is not used to identify you personally.
  • Security and delivery data. The site is served through a content delivery and security network (Cloudflare), which processes standard technical information such as IP addresses to deliver pages, protect against malicious traffic, and keep the site online.
  • Server logs. The web host may keep standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) as part of normal operation and security.
I do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, I do not run advertising, and I do not sell or rent anyone's data. Ever.
03

Cookies & similar technologies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site uses them sparingly:

  • Necessary cookies keep the site functioning and secure. These are required for the site to work and cannot be switched off.
  • Analytics cookies (if enabled) help me understand anonymized, aggregate usage so I can improve the site. These are optional.

When required, a consent banner lets you accept or decline optional cookies, and you can change your choice at any time. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may work less smoothly if you do.

04

Third-party services

A few reputable third parties help run this site. Each has its own privacy practices, and they process data only to provide their service:

  • Cloudflare — content delivery, security, and performance.
  • Web hosting provider — stores and serves the site's files.
  • Google Fonts — typefaces are loaded to display the site, which can involve a request to Google's servers.
  • Analytics provider (if enabled) — anonymized, aggregate traffic measurement.

This site links out to third-party platforms such as LinkedIn. Once you follow a link away from here, that destination's own privacy policy governs your visit.

05

How your information is used

The limited data involved is used only to:

  • Respond to messages you send me and continue our conversation.
  • Keep the site secure, online, and working properly.
  • Understand anonymized, aggregate traffic so I can improve the site.

It is never used for advertising, profiling, or resale.

06

Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data — including the right to ask what I hold about you, to request a copy, to ask me to correct or delete it, or to object to certain processing. Because this site collects so little, honoring these is usually straightforward.

To make any such request, just email me at [email protected] and I'll respond promptly.

07

Data retention

I keep email correspondence for as long as it's useful to our professional relationship, and delete it when it no longer is. Analytics data is aggregated and anonymized. Technical and security logs are retained only as long as needed for operations and security.

08

Children's privacy

This site is intended for a professional audience and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

09

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, I'll update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here, so it's worth a look if you're curious.
